Tuition agreement
Terms & Conditions
These terms set out the agreement between Bit by Bit Computer Science Tuition (the Tutor) and the student or parent or guardian booking sessions (the Client).
Last updated: 30 July 2026
By booking a session, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Sessions
All tuition sessions are delivered online via video call (e.g. Google Meet, Zoom or similar). Sessions are typically 60 minutes in duration unless agreed otherwise in advance.
- A stable internet connection and a suitable device (computer, tablet or laptop) are required.
- Sessions will begin and end at the agreed time. If the Client is late, the session will still end at the agreed time unless the Tutor has availability to extend.
- The Tutor reserves the right to reschedule a session with reasonable notice if unforeseen circumstances arise.
2. Booking
Paid tuition is booked through the paid-tuition Calendly event. The optional free consultation is arranged through WhatsApp or email. A paid lesson is confirmed through the booking information provided for the selected date and time.
- Block bookings (5 or 10 sessions) are allocated within an agreed timeframe and do not expire unless agreed in writing.
- The Tutor reserves the right to decline or discontinue sessions at their discretion.
3. Payment
| Tuition or consultation | Rate | Notes |

| GCSE Computer Science Tuition | £30 per hour | Payment before or on the day of the session |
| Programming Skills Tuition | £30 per hour | Payment before or on the day of the session |
| A-Level Computer Science Tuition | £35 per hour | Payment before or on the day of the session |

- Payment is accepted via bank transfer or PayPal. Bank details will be provided upon booking.
- Sessions will not proceed if payment has not been received for block bookings.
- Invoices or payment receipts are available on request.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- More than 24 hours' notice: Session can be rescheduled at no charge. For single session payments, a full refund will be issued if rescheduling is not possible.
- Less than 24 hours' notice: The full session fee is charged and the session is considered used. No refund will be issued.
- No-show (no contact): The full session fee is charged. Block session users will have one session deducted from their block.
- The Tutor will provide at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation. If the Tutor cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, the session will be rescheduled or refunded in full at the Client's discretion.
5. Free Consultation
The free consultation is an optional 30-minute conversation for parents or learners who would like to discuss suitability before choosing tuition. It is not a tuition lesson, diagnostic assessment, commitment to paid tuition or guarantee of a place.
6. Safeguarding & DBS
The Tutor holds a current enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. All online sessions are conducted professionally and safely.
- For students under 18, a parent or guardian must be aware that the session is taking place and be contactable during the session.
- Sessions must not be recorded by either party without prior written consent.
- The Tutor will not contact students outside of agreed session times except to confirm or reschedule bookings.
7. Conduct
Both the Tutor and Client are expected to behave respectfully and professionally during all sessions and communications. The Tutor reserves the right to end a session and terminate the tutoring arrangement without refund if behaviour is abusive, inappropriate or disruptive.
8. Liability
The Tutor will make every effort to provide high-quality, accurate tuition. However, Bit by Bit Computer Science Tuition cannot guarantee specific exam results or outcomes. The Tutor is not liable for technical issues outside of their control (e.g. internet outages) that disrupt a session, though reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule at no charge in such cases.
9. Privacy & Data
Personal information collected (name, email, phone number) is used for organising and delivering tuition. Personal information is not sold. It may be processed by trusted service providers where necessary to operate the website, manage bookings and communicate with clients. Further information about these providers and how personal information is handled is available in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
The Tutor reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes by email. Continued bookings after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
By booking a session with Bit by Bit Computer Science Tuition, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
